Fodor's Review

Although it's in a 1912 building that's been designated a National Historic Landmark, the Mount View feels completely modern, with freshly painted rooms (some are a dramatic red and black), feather duvets, and high-tech touches like iPod docking stations. The three cottages have private redwood decks and whirlpool tubs. A full-service spa provides state-of-the-art pampering. The hotel's location on Calistoga's main drag, plus the two excellent restaurants off the lobby,

means you won't need to go far if your spa treatment leaves you too indolent to drive.

Don't leave money or valuables in your room

My wife and I stayed in a suite at this hotel last weekend. The property was not terrible, although the service was lacking to say the least. The major problem with the hotel is that the rooms are not secure. We had 3 envelopes containing cash, checks and important paperwork that mysteriously disappeared from our room. When we brought it to the staffs attention, they did not seem too concerned, nor did they try and offer us anything to make up for

the loss. Had this happened at a quality hotel, they might have at least offered to comp our room... or something. All we got from the hotel was, "sorry". I would not recommend this hotel to anyone... unless they don't mind having their property stolen.

New York loves you!!

As soon as we walked in the door we were warmly greeted. The spa treatments were phenomenal! The serene pool environment was so peaceful. The midweek spa package was a great deal. And what a better way to start your morning then delicious pastries and fruit delivered to your room.

We will be back soon!

Great place to stay in the wine country. If you are looking for a quiet charming place with a great spa, look no further. Loved it.
