Fodor's Review

An unassuming winery in a modern wooden barn topped by solar panels, Quivira produces some of Dry Creek's most interesting wines. Hugh Chappelle, the winemaker since 2010, crafts well-balanced reds, among them a lush Syrah, several hearty Zinfandels, and a Petite Sirah that showcases this unheralded varietal's noblest attributes. He also makes a zesty yet refined Sauvignon Blanc. The excellent tour provides information about the winery's biodynamic and organic farming

practices and offers a glimpse of the beautiful garden and the property's pigs, chickens, and beehives. You can take a free self-guided tour through the garden, some of whose bounty—including estate-grown honey and olive oil—is available for sale.

Zinfindel fans, this place is for you

A quaint winery specializing in Zinfindels, Quivera is not to be missed. Typically, people view zinfindels as too strong and bold. The wine here changed my opinion of zinfindel so much that I bought a few bottles to take home.
