Hardly a ramshackle barbecue shack, this spot inside a local shopping center has a clean, modern aesthetic, with black-and-white photos on the wall and brushed-aluminum chairs. Chef Randy Lewis has revitalized the menu while retaining such favorites as the half or full rack of cherrywood-smoked baby back ribs and the beef brisket. The fried-chicken sandwich, made with supremely juicy free-range chicken, is also popular. If you can save any room, the root-beer float or
the chocolate bourbon pecan pie is a fitting end to a homey meal.

BarbersQ is a great place to get quality food at an excellent value, particularly if you're a little tired of shelling out the equivalent of a mortgage payment at other Napa Valley restaurants. This place is very casual but sleek and modern in decor, with just enough of a hip music track to make the vibe fun. Our favorite is the pulled-pork sandwich, which comes with a nice-sized salad of FRESH butter lettuce with sliced apples and a citrus dressing.
Another stand-out is Antoinetta's Chicken Soup. Actually, everything on the menu is delicious and decent wines by the glass are offered. Friendly, attentive service.
