Thanks in part to a Food Network plug by chef Michael Chiarello the English muffins here became so popular that takeout customers are sometimes limited to purchases of six, but the scones, croissants, breads, and other baked goods also dazzle. Breakfast brings pastries and English muffin sandwiches with scrambled eggs, bacon, and Canadian ham. The menu expands for lunch to include soups, salads, pizzas, and more sandwiches—turkey panini, Italian hoagies, muffalettas, and Cubans among them. After ordering at the counter you may have to wait for a table (inside or out), but you'll likely find the results worth the effort. A second location is at the Oxbow Public Market in Napa.
