Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center

Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center Review

Learn all about the treasures in the nation's largest marine sanctuary via interactive and multimedia exhibits in this fascinating interpretive center. The two-story building, right across the street from the main beach and municipal wharf, was completed in summer 2012. Exhibits educate about watersheds, underwater canyon, kelp forests, and intertidal zones. In the mini-theater, follow migratory species (whales, dolphins, sea turtles) as they travel through the open ocean. Head out to the second-floor deck for stellar ocean views, and to get real-time weather, surf, and buoy reports at an interactive station. The center also provides extensive information on the sanctuary's many activities.
