Fodor's Review

Park the car and sample local wines at tasting rooms and shops in downtown Carmel, all within a few blocks of each other. To so, purchase a Wine Walk Passport, good for flights in nine tasting rooms and free corkage at local restaurants. There's no expiration date—participating venues will stamp it each time you visit.

Don't Waste Your Money

This is really not a good value. Most of the wines on the "Passport" can be found at the local Safeway or Albertson's grocery stores for 1/2 the price. Some of the tasting rooms are the type of corporate, mass produced plonk you try to escape from when visiting places like Carmel by the Sea. For the better wines and tastings in Carmel all one needs to do is visit places like Andre's Bouchee where Tudor Wines pours their uber fine pinot noirs, or Neilsen's

Market or The Cheese Shop where you're likely to meet actual winemakers pouring high end, small production wines like Richard Oh and his Oh Pinot Noirs.
