Captain's Inn Review

Commune with nature and pamper yourself with upscale creature comforts at this green-certified getaway in the heart of town. The historic, authentically restored Pacific Coast Steamship building has a parlor and four traditional B&B-style rooms with private baths. The Boathouse, built from scratch in 2003, overlooks a tidal channel filled with birds, seals, otters, and other wildlife. The bedsets in the six Boathouse rooms are crafted from retired boats. These rooms have fireplaces, and binoculars are provided (ask for a second-floor room for the best views). Innkeeper-owners Melanie and Yohn Gideon provide friendly personal service; Melanie prepares tasty gourmet breakfasts using family recipes and fresh local ingredients, and Captain Yohn pilots the Elkhorn Slough Safari pontoon adventures down the road.
