Fresh fish with a Latin accent makes this a favorite of locals for lunch or a casual dinner. Standards are the sea garden salads topped with your choice of fish and the fried seafood plates with fresh veggies. Large appetites appreciate the fisherman's bowls, which feature fresh fish served with rice, black beans, spicy cabbage, salsa, vegetables, and crispy tortilla strips.

We returned to the Fishwife (the original one ion Pacific Grove) after a ten0year haituxs. We were a little concerned because we found that in the past few years they have several branches and that usually spells disaster for "Mom and Pop" restaurants. We were not dispppointed!
The food and service were great! Our waiter was friendly without being overbearing and the food was as good as we remembered. This was after having been to a Food and Wine Festival for over a week before this side trip.
The atmosphere is strictly utilitarian, but clean and pleasant. We even saw a couple of deer grazing on the adjacent residential laws after we left!
We are pleased we returned and would go back again.

Before our exquisite dinner at the Pacific's Edge at the Highland's Inn, we decided to stop in here for some appetizers before dinner. The small dining room was festive and colorful, the crab tostadiots were very good, full of fresh, fresh crab from the area and the service very friendly and attentive. I also had a nice glass of local Sauv Blanc with our appetizer, a great place for a casual meal with yummy seafood.
