Sea View Inn Review
In a residential area a few hundred feet from the beach, this restored 1905 home has a double parlor with two fireplaces, Oriental rugs, canopy beds, and a spacious front porch. Rooms are individually done in cheery colors and country patterns; taller guests might feel cramped in those tucked up under the eaves. Afternoon tea and evening wine and cheese are offered daily. Because of the fragile furnishings and quiet atmosphere, families with kids will likely be more comfortable elsewhere.

Occasionaly we venture out and try other hotels or inns in the Carmel/Pacific Grove area, but we always return to the Seaview Inn. Service doesn't get any better than this. The breakfast is wonderful, especially on Sunday mornings when they usually serve something special like quiche and sausage along with the usual bounty of cereals, fruit, and homebaked breads of some kind. The rooms are beautifully decorated and contain original artwork by the owner and other local artists. The inn is only a couple of blocks from the ocean and from some of the rooms you can hear the surf if you sleep with your window open. We love sitting in the pretty living room by the fire on rainy days or lounging in the garden or on the front porch with a glass of wine when the weather is warm. Tea and cookies are available in the afternoons and complimentary wine and cheese are offered in the evenings. We like to have our wine while we peruse the restaurant menus provided in the fireside menu basket. We can't recommend this place enough! Be sure to bring your own shampoo, however, as the inn doesn't provide it.
