Near the tip of the peninsula, this complex straddles Lighthouse Avenue—the lodge is on one side, the all-suites facility on the other. Suites have fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. Standard rooms are simple, but they're decently sized and much less expensive. With daily afternoon barbecues at the lodge, this is a woodsy alternative to downtown Pacific Grove's B&B scene. (The suites do not have a daily barbecue, but instead feature a wine-and-cheese spread.) Pros: Near lighthouse and 17-Mile Drive, friendly reception, upgraded beds and linens in 2006. Cons: Next to a cemetery, lodge rooms are basic.
