Best Western Seacliff Inn Review

Families and business travelers like this 6-acre property near Seacliff State Beach that's more resort than hotel. Six two-story lodge buildings encircle a large pool and lush gardens with a koi pond and waterfall—ask for a room in a building away from the busy restaurant and bar, which can get noisy at night. The decent-size rooms sport a fresh—if somewhat generic—contemporary look.

    Terrible service, stay somewhere else

The staff is incredibly rude and incompetent, the people at the front desk act like they are doing you a favor by assisting you in anyway. They look irritated that they have to help guests and they show it, especially the one named Graciela, I couldn't give you the name of the other two because they were wearing no name tag, but it was a heavy set, short woman with brown hair and another slightly slimmer woman with dyed blond hair, neither of which were wearing any kind of a uniform, just frumpy regular clothes. The manager Nadine is exceptionally bad at her job and has a bad attitude, not to mention has no idea what is going on in this sorry excuse for a best western "plus". Except for two young men, the front desk referred to as bell boys, who are they only nice and polite individuals in the whole establishment. The free internet, never works, great free internet that is useless, you can't really call that an amenity. There are always multiple problems with the rooms, from lighting problems, to problems with the showers, to the fridges, coffee makers, electrical outlets, the a/c and heating units, to the doors and key mechanisms failing. This is a good looking property, slightly run down in appearance and definitely rundown in many functional aspects. The breakfast and gym are quite mediocre. Don't bother putting a do not disturb sign on the door, they will absolutely disturb you regardless, heck they might even just barge in the door if you aren't careful. This place is horrible!

Nadine, Graciela, and all other front desk staff should be reprimanded for their treatment of guests. I was locked out of my room on multiple occasions, and treated poorly by the people at the front desk. The first time, Graciela, she demanded to see my ID, I said I would gladly show her but it was locked in the room I couldn't get into, she got the number of the room wrong not once but four times, when she first checked the reservation for names, then when she created the second key card, when she wrote it down on the sleeve for the key card then when she sent the "bellboys" to follow me to the room to check my ID. She took her sweet time informing maintenance there was a problem. I waited over 20 minutes at night to get back into the room. The maintenance guy took his sweet time in coming to assist; the door handle was broken and deactivated the key card. He gave me attitude while he pointed out that I had to lift the door handle as if that were common knowledge of course it had to be my fault and not his for not keeping up maintenance. He refused to fix it then, which meant I had to stay up and wait for the other guest to arrive because he would not be able to get into the room with the broken handle. The next morning the maintenance guy came and knocked on the door with a sign clearly posted to not disturb. Once we finally repaired this, the key deactivated once again, and I had to deal with the rude front desk people, again, who demonstrated their incompetence yet again. They did not understand simple English, I told them the key had deactivated and they understood the door handle was broken, they gave me a bad attitude, saying the guy had already fix it. I told them that was not the problem, after that they gave me two newly programmed keycards and still sent the maintenance guy up again, probably to check my ID, which was again locked in the room.
