Santa Cruz Surfing Museum

Santa Cruz Surfing Museum Review

The Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, inside the Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse, traces local surfing history back to the early 20th century. Historical photographs show old-time surfers, and a display of boards includes rarities such as a heavy redwood plank predating the fiberglass era and the remains of a modern board chomped by a great white shark. Surfer-docents are on site to talk about the old days.
