This is the place to go to load up on maps and area information. Especially worthwhile are the brochures on self-guided walking tours of historic Monterey and Cannery Row; admission to most sites along the walks is free, and most are open daily. The Maritime Museum of Monterey is in the Stanton Center; you can also view a free 20-minute film about Old Monterey.
