Cameras & Photography in Los Angeles

Cameras & Photography

Clicking photos of celebrities is a business in Hollywood -- don't try it, unless you don't mind looking like a paparazzo wannabe and raising your subjects' ire (or that of their bodyguards). Otherwise L.A. is a great place to be a shutterbug. You can shoot both urban and natural spaces, not to mention iconic images such as the footprints in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. However, pictures of the great outdoors can be problematic in summer because of the smog. Try photographing in the early morning or late afternoon, when the light is mellower and shadows will give a sense of depth. If you're trying for a dramatic crashing-waves shot on a rocky stretch of coastline, snap an instant before the surf hits the rocks to maximize your chances of capturing the full crest of spray. At Disneyland, you'll have plenty of opportunities to take pictures with costumed characters.
