Fodor's Review

Shaped like a flying saucer from a 1960s film, the Chemosphere House sits perched high up off Mulholland Drive overlooking the Valley. Designed by the late architect John Lautner, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, this house is held together with special glues used at the request of the original owner, who worked with a chemical company. It's an awesome sight for architecture fans of the mod era. To get here, head north up Laurel Canyon, right on Mulholland, and right on Torreyson Place. Turn left up the narrow unmarked road where the private home sits at the top.
