For almost 100 years, this open-air market has tempted Angelenos with all kinds of produce, fresh meats and seafood, spices, and fresh tortillas. These days, while overstuffed pupusas, Cuban sandwiches, and kebabs still satisfy shoppers on the go, the oft-expanding array of foodie vendors make it easy to spend hours sampling the diversified flavors of L.A. Favorites include Eggslut's breakdast sandwiches, G&B Coffee, Wexler's Deli, Horse Thief BBQ brisket, Ana Maria's gorditas, and Sticky Rice Thai food. New vendors seem to pop up monthly. The market occasionally hosts cultural events, from coffee tastings to film screenings to live music.
