Fodor's Review

Socially conscious, unconventional, and politically themed shows are a focus of the plays here, and beyond the performances, the company focuses on education and outreach programs that form the backbone of its work within the community. Helmed by artistic director Tim Robbins (who was also one of its founders in 1981), the Actors' Gang has managed to go beyond the stage and form programs that benefit not only local students but also prisoners through Prison Project, which

conducts acting workshops at California state prisons. Famous actors are also known to do acting stints in plays at the theater from time to time. In summer, the Actors’ Gang offers adaptations of Shakespeare for free in Media Park. Call or check the website for the schedule.
