Dolby Theatre Review
This jewel in the crown of the Hollywood & Highland Center, this theater (formerly the Kodak Theatre) was created as the permanent host of the Academy Awards, and the lavish 3,500-seat center is now also home to the Cirque du Soleil's Iris (except for a months-long hiatus in prepartion for and just after the awards). Via jaw-dropping acrobatics, inventive costumes, and music, Iris tells the story of cinema with humor and panache. Seeing a show in this setting is worthwhile just to witness the gorgeous, crimson-and-gold interior, with its box seating and glittering chandeliers.
