Sitting right on the sand, bordering the Strand (SoCal's famous beach bike and walk path), the Beach House looks like a New England sea cottage from a century ago. The exterior resembles an apartment building, but inside you can find contemporary amenities in split-level, loftlike rooms. Ocean-front rooms facing the Strand have terrific sunset views and small balconies. All rooms have two flat-screen TVs, multiline phones, a stereo system, fireplace, wet bar, and extra soundproofing. Expect to pay more for ocean-view rooms and weekend and summer stays. Rent bikes nearby or stroll on the Hermosa Beach pier. Mornings, muffins and coffee await you in the pleasant breakfast room. Many guests book an in-room massage.
