Fodor's Review

It's easy to tap into the Sunset Strip energy here, especially at the hotel's new Oliver's Prime steakhouse and rock-n-roll–styled lounge, the Cutting Room. Rooms are small, but large windows with plantation shutters and full-length mirrors help open the space up. Ask for a room facing the interior courtyard, both to avoid noise from the Strip and to overlook the heated saline-pool area with its mosaic-tile waterfall and striped lounge chairs. Hospitable touches include portable room phones that work poolside, bathrobes, nightly turndown service, CD players, iPod docking stations, and free transportation within 3 miles.

Low Key Cool on Sunset

A nice cool hotel in the centre of Sunsets nightlife. Staff were a little slow on check in. I thought the courtesy car was a nice bonus to take us to our restaurant in the evening.

If you're looking for nightlife, this is the place to be.

The Grafton is in a very "hip" location. The resturant (Balboa's)has great food, but there is a wait of a week minimum to get a reservation. A lot of the Stars eat at this resturant, and go to the Balboa Lounge in the hotel. The staff was great; they went out of their way to accomodate us. The decor is very trendy, and the rooms are small. For the location (in the middle of everything), the price was very reasonable. It wasn't the Ritz, but it

was fun.
