Lazy Ox Canteen

Lazy Ox Canteen Review

Found in the artsy Little Tokyo section of downtown Los Angeles, Lazy Ox Canteen is a neighborhood favorite often filled with downtown dwellers who come in and tuck themselves into a communal table for the night. The lively dimly lit restaurant brings together flavorful food, great wine, and moderate prices along with an outdoor patio for enjoying L.A.'s sunny weather. The kitchen is led by chef Josef Centeno, whose diverse culinary background has resulted in a hodgepodge of seasonal eats that range from caramelized onion soup to beef tongue ravioli. Order the duck breast with crushed yams, the whole roasted branzino, or the Lazy Ox burger with cantal cheese and green peppercorn mustard. Specials change daily, such as a pork porterhouse with pancetta gravy for two. Stick around for dessert: you won't be disappointed.
