Blue Velvet

Blue Velvet Review

Carved out of an abandoned Holiday Inn in an eco-conscious apartment building, this hip poolside restaurant reflects the dynamic changes occurring in downtown L.A. Featuring striking views of the new $2.5 billion L.A. Live project, a lively lounge, and a contemporary menu from a daring kitchen, cosmopolitan Blue Velvet oozes sex appeal. The mostly small-plate menu offers crispy Kurobuta pork belly with squash puree, hamachi sashimi with apple sauce, and hanger steak with onion rings, all enhanced with organic herbs from a rooftop garden, making Blue Velvet one cool green scene.
