Thompson Beverly Hills Review

The Beverly Hills outpost of New York's Thompson Hotels has smoky-sexy interiors, and lacquered all-black corridors are by designer Dodd Mitchell who makes the most of the '70s-era boxy-rooms, filling them with texture and reflective surfaces (slim mirrored panels on the ceiling). The all-white duvet on the low-rise platform bed contrasts with the dark wood built-ins and workspace, all of it illuminated by hanging globes. Bathrooms are shimmering mosaic tile and black marble, artfully lighted. Provocative images by fashion photographer Stephen Klein are found throughout. Expect the fashion crowd and those who like a darkened nightclub feel. A private rooftop pool and gym delivers drop-dead views of Beverly Hills. Within walking distance is all of Beverly Hills famed shopping and eateries (Spago is across the street).
