BLT Steak

Fodor's Review:

Laurent Tourondel is a French chef in love with the classic American steak house. His restaurant BLT (Bistro Laurent Tourondel) Steak now occupies the Sunset Strip building formerly home to legendary industry hangout Le Dôme; the space is now more casual and sparingly decorated, with a hip vibe and a vague bistro essence. Certified Angus beef is the main attraction here, following samplings from a raw bar, respectable crab cakes, or kampachi sashimi spiked with yuzu and kumquats. Pass on the domestic Wagyu (which lacks the consistency of the Japanese product) and hanger steak (too chewy). Instead, enjoy a big red wine with the bone-in rib eye or fillet with a béarnaise sauce worthy of a real French bistro, and finish with a killer peanut butter-chocolate mousse.
