Malibu Beach Inn

  • Price range: $$$$
  • Location: Malibu

Fodor's Review:

Set right on exclusive and private Carbon Beach, home to all manner of the super-rich, the inn's location doesn't get any better than this. Third-floor ocean-view rooms, with wood-beamed ceilings and private balconies, are instantly calming and definitely romantic. Feather beds, inset lighting, original artwork, and custom-made furniture combine with creamy yellow walls for designer-perfect rooms and an ultrachic, residential feel. The inn's Carbon Beach Club restaurant overlooks the Pacific and nearby Malibu pier and presents California cuisine and local Malibu wines. Guests can access the Malibu Health and Fitness across the highway. Teak beach loungers, umbrellas, and towels are provided. Holidays require multinight stays. Pros: live like a billionaire in designer-perfect interiors right on the beach. Cons: noise of PCH, no pool, gym, or hot tub. Billionaire's travel budget also required.
