O Hotel Review

A former residential hotel, the O has been completely cleaned up and redone in a minimalist, Zen-modern style. A glowing, granite-faced fireplace heats up the two-story lobby, dotted with low seating. Ergonomic work desk and chair, designer lighting, and platform beds occupy the compact rooms also outfitted with flat-screen TV; stone-floored bathrooms are found behind a space-saving pocket door. Close to L.A.'s convention center, the Nokia Theatre, and L.A. Live at downtown's southern edge, numerous new hot spots are also within walking distance. Mediterranean-influenced cuisine and tapas are the specialties of Bar & Kitchen, the on-site restaurant. Convention goers and downtown business types will appreciate the convenience, low-key vibe, and amiable staff.

    AWFUL HOTEL

We booked a Flower Suite at the O Hotel for a special occasion. The hotel accidently gave our suite to another patron as an upgrade. The mgr informed us of the mistake when we checked in and gave us a regular room to stay in while they sorted it out. Almost 2 hours later, the hotel informed us they could not rectify the situation and we lost our suite due to their error. No solution was offered to compensate us for the loss of the suite; we were offered the small regular room with a view of a brick wall for the standard price. As this was a special occasion and I booked direct with the hotel, we declined and left with an extremely bad hotel experience. The staff, service and room accommodations were awful. Save your money and vacation - stay away from this hotel.
