Osteria Mozza Review

Born from the immensely popular collaboration between celebrated bread maker Nancy Silverton (founder of L.A.'s La Brea Bakery), restaurateur Joe Bastianich, and Iron Chef Mario Batali, Osteria Mozza features candlelit, linen-clad tables surrounding a central marble-topped mozzarella bar, ideal for solo diners. From that bar come several presentations of velvety burrata cheese and perfectly dressed salads, while the kitchen turns out an oversize raviolo oozing ricotta and egg in brown butter sauce, blissful sweetbreads piccata, and grilled whole orata (Mediterranean sea bream), capped off with Italian cheeses and delicious rosemary–olive oil cakes. If you can't score a reservation here, treat yourself to the partners' pizzeria next door.
