Walk to the ocean side of the soaring atrium here and you'll feel like you're on a cruise ship. Huge petrified palm trees loom over the dramatic lobby. Rooms that face the seaside are definitely worth the extra cost. In all rooms you'll find sunken bathtubs, stone counters, wood armoires, and CD players. You can order lunch poolside while lounging on bright-yellow terry-cloth chaises. Ocean & Vine, the hotel's restaurant, aptly pairs small plates with select wines and has a fun outdoor patio complete with firepits. Pets go first-class at Loews: each receives a treat upon arrival. Pros: resort vibe, walk to beach, pet and kid friendly. Cons: small spa and pool.

The views from the west facing rooms are amazing! It's a great family hotel. On the beach and near everything Hollywood! Staff is friendly and eager to please.
