Marina del Rey Marriott

Fodor's Review:

A jazzy lobby with plush couches, armchairs, and a welcoming bar is inside; outside is Glow, the hotel's popular lounge. The hotel is just across from the protected waters of the Marina and a short jaunt to Venice. There's across-the-board appeal here. Families like the heated pool and hot tub and proximity to the Venice boardwalk. Business types appreciate the two floors of meeting space. Brides go for the rooftop ballroom with stunning views. Rooms are a mix of traditional furniture, sea-theme prints, blue and gold accents, and plush, pillow-top mattresses with an avalanche of pillows. Sliding glass doors lead to French balconies: open them for sea breezes. Ask for upper-floor rooms facing the marina for the best views. Pros: 15 minutes to LAX, outdoor lounge for nighttime socializing, bike rentals, and quiet beach across the street. Cons: traffic and noise from busy Admiralty Way, small gym.
