The Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey Review

You might have a sense of déjà vu here since this resort, overlooking L.A.'s largest marina, is a favorite location of dozens of TV and film productions. Traditionally styled rooms in warm, gold tones have French doors, marble baths, and feather beds, but the true luxury is in the spectacular, panoramic views. Dine outside for a waterside view at Jer-ne, the hotel's chic restaurant, or kick back in the clubby lobby lounge. Check out the chlorine-free pool: it uses a saline purification system to keep the water clean. Club-level rooms are worth the price.

    Is Bvlgari really necessary?

I loved everything about my stay at the Ritz, except for the perfumed bath products and the low water pressure in the shower. I like nice bath products as much as the next girl, but if you are going to have high-end designer products, I would prefer ones that do not smell like bvlgari perfume and a conditioner that actually works. It's really petty to criticize the bath products when the rest of the hotel experience was so nice.

Great service! Well worth the $$$.

We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Marina Del Ray for 3 nights(May 18th-21st) and it did not disappoint! We have stayed in over a dozen R-C's, Maui and Barcelona to name a few, and the service at this hotel was by far the best. As soon as we walked in, a young lady greeted us by name and offered us orange/pomegranite water and iced tea. She even made my husband an appointment for a massage as we were waiting in line to check-in. As for the rooms, they were comfortable and each night the room attendants filled the ice buckets and left a bottle of water on both sides of the bed. Also, our first night there the GM delivered a bowl of fresh fruit to welcome us to the hotel and included a handwritten note which made us feel well taken care of. I was surprised by the level of service we received, since the room rate we secured was well below the other luxury hotels in the LA area. While this hotel is still on the more expensive side (i.e. standard rooms run about $299/night) it was a great value for the level service we received.
