Fodor's Review:

Once an apartment building, this hotel plays host to those in the entertainment business. Close to Beverly Hills and Hollywood and a short drive from the Valley, it's just off the busy Sunset Strip on a quiet residential block. Loftlike suites, with sunken living room, fireplace, and private balcony, have chocolate brown walls, brightened by a geometric patterned duvet. Couches are covered in plush corduroy, and the flat-screen TV and DVD player are hidden inside a dark-wood sideboard. Bathrooms are small, with combination showers and tubs. Pros: rooftop pool and tennis court with stellar views, super-private and discreet industry favorite. Cons: no on-street parking, in the heart of W. Hollywood's congestion.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 days recently and were unimpressed with the room and with the front desk service (the room service and the valet service was perfect). The front desk personnel, never, not once, looked up at us when we walked in to the hotel on the many times we entered during our stay. In fact, a few times when we were speaking to people at the desk, other personnel behind the desk interrupted our conversation to take care of what was on their mind. Our room, on the 3rd floor was perfectly comfortable but the carpeting felt old. The bathroom was really small and the bathroom fan went on when you turned on the bathroom light. There wasn't a separate switch. Although our room was non-smoking, there was a smoking room directly below ours and the smoke from that room wafted into ours if we had the balcony door opened. We declined the offer to have our room changed because of the hassle and we suggested to the management that they rethink having a moking room directly below a non-smoking room. The pool area is lovely and has a great view of Los Angeles. It is the best aspect of the hotel. The hotel is in a great, lovely location and although they charge $24/night to park, they do not charge an in and out fee for guests. All in all our stay was okay but there was something lacking. I'm not sure we'd go back.
