Magic Castle Hotel Review
Close to the action (and traffic) of Hollywood, this former apartment building faces busy Franklin Avenue and is a quick walk to the nearby Red Line stop at Hollywood & Highland. There's nothing theme-y about the guest room decor, but larger rooms have full kitchens with eating areas. Minibar refrigerators are delivered to rooms on request and you can raid snacks free of charge. There's a decent-size, heated pool, and the patio has lots of greenery. Guests at the hotel can secure dinner reservations and attend nightly magic shows at the Magic Castle, a private club for magicians and their admirers that's housed in a 1908 mansion next door. (Jacket and tie are required for men; kids are allowed only during brunch on weekends.)
