Fodor's Review:

The InterContinental is tucked away on Avenue of the Stars, overlooking 20th Century Fox Studios' back lot. The central Westside location is handy for all kinds of visits but business types predominate. There's a decent-size balcony off every room; most have excellent views. Ask for a room facing west for brilliant sunsets (smog permitting). Desks are computer ready with convenient cordless phones. Bathrooms have marble vanities and separate shower and tub. Nightly, a talented sushi chef sets up shop in the lobby bar. Spa treatments, offered in three spa villas with deep soaking tubs and a private outdoor patio, are a soothing indulgence. Pros: helpful staff, intimate spa with excellent treatments, welcoming pool and hot tub. Cons: vast, impersonal entryway, expensive in-house dining.

Very impressed! It's now called the Intercontinental Los Angeles. Recently renovated corner room #712 was very spacious and had excellent views north and west over the Fox backlot all the way to the Pacific. Lots of windows, sliding doors & spacious balcony. Everything was very well maintained and very clean. Service throughout was refined, prompt and professional. Relatively convenient location (as long as you have a car or can use the hotel's complimentary car) is close to Beverly Hills & West Hollywood. We chose this area over Hollywood and after seeing Hollywood Blvd., we were very happy that we chose this location. Hollywood Blvd. still has a long way to go and is very touristy and still seedy. Hotel has complimentary Town Car drop off/pick up within 1.5 mile radius up until 10:00 PM. Spa area was great. Hotel is within walking distance of Westfield Century City mall, which was much nicer than the Beverly Center. Great selection of shops and nice restaurants in a pleasant outdoor setting. We did not eat at the hotel but had excellent dinners at Angelini Osteria & Mastro's Steakhouse. I'm extremely fussy and I would not hesitate to stay here again for the right price.
