Fodor's Review

Interior decorator Kelly Wearstler put her Midas touch on this mid-century Beverly Hills hotel, mixing original classic pieces by George Nelson and Charles Eames with her chic custom designs. The hotel's bright and airy restaurant, Oliverio, emphasizes regional Italian food with fresh ingredients. For extended stays, the Avalon also has stylish apartments that come with all hotel services, including twice-daily housekeeping. Weather permitting, things get busy at the vintage

hourglass-shaped pool and in the fun private cabanas.

Ultra Hip with Friendly Staff

Great location in Beverly Hills especially if you need to go to Santa Monica as well as Hollywood. Rooms are hip, if not a little small (by LA standards)and we love the bathrobes, high end bathroom products. The lounge is adjacent to the pool and has good food in a very hip atmosphere. Great place to have meetings near the pool. Has a retro-chic/shabby feel but in a good, hip fashion. Staff is extremely friendly and not what you would expect

from a chic boutique hotel in LA. Especially coming from NYC where all staff in these types of hotels exude major attitude. This staff greets you on arrival each day as you come and go and couldn't be more pleasant.
