Fodor's Review:
On the outside, it's Spanish Revival; on the inside, this 1926, 12-story hotel is a mix of Southwestern, Mexican, and Mediterranean styles, with earth tones, hand-painted furniture, and wrought-iron beds. You can lounge around the pool and bubbling hot tub surrounded by tropical greenery under the shadow of downtown skyscrapers. (Make it even better with a soothing drink from the back patio bar.) Watch the calendar when reserving: since it's next to the convention center and Staples Center, this well-priced hotel books up months in advance of major events.
