Fodor's Review:

One of downtown L.A.'s true treasures, the gilded 1923 beaux arts masterpiece exudes ambience and history. The lobby (formerly the Music Room) was the local headquarters of JFK's presidential campaign, and the ballroom hosted some of the earliest Academy Awards. These days, the Biltmore hosts business types drawn by its central downtown location, ample meeting spaces, and services such as a well-outfitted business center that stays open 24/7. Some of the guest rooms are small by today's standards, but all have classic, formal furnishings, shuttered windows, and marble bathrooms. Bring your bathing suit for the vintage tiled indoor pool and adjacent steam room. Pros: historic character, famed filming location, club level rooms have many hospitable extras. Cons: pricey valet parking, standard rooms truly compact.

This hotel was undergoing renovation when I was there and it was a bit musty. The first room I was given was across the street from the construction of the new CAA headquarters. The front desk moved to a room with a view over the pool and it was beautiful. The room was very nice and spacious.

Throughly enjoyed my stay at the Biltmore in Los Angeles. Close proximity to a number of key attractions too [Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Museum of Contemporary Art].
Throughout my stay, service was excellent and staff were very polite. Rooms were comfortable as well.
Did not manage to sample the food in Sai Sai, the hotel's restaurant which serves modern Asian cuisine ... but will attempt to do so when my next trip to LA arises.
