Fodor's Review:

Super-contemporary design makes this place feel like an adults-only playground. Rooms come with a sunken whirlpool tub surrounded by a movable shoji-like screen, a sculptural fireplace, a martini shaker, and overhead "chromatherapy" lighting that changes color via digital touch plates. Up on the roof is a sundeck and workout area; stand on tiptoe to see the ocean. The hotel's just a short walk to the shoreline, the local pier, and Manhattan Beach's lively, compact downtown. Just off the hotel's patio is the Triology Spa for tropical-style pampering. Pros: lively bar scene at Zinc, a quick walk to the beach and dozens of restaurants. Cons: sharp-edged furniture, recommended for adults or older kids only, small dipping pool.
