Fodor's Review

Super-contemporary design makes this place feel like an adults-only playground, and it's just a short walk to the shoreline, the local pier, and Manhattan Beach's lively, compact downtown. Rooms come with a sunken whirlpool tub surrounded by a movable shojilike screen, a sculptural fireplace, a martini shaker, and overhead "chromatherapy" lighting that changes color via digital touch plates. Up on the roof is a sundeck, pool, and workout area; stand on tiptoe to see the

ocean. Just off the hotel's patio is the Triology Spa for tropical-style pampering.
