Not far from I-10 and most Westside businesses, this Sheraton appeals to business types weekdays, but international travelers and families appreciate the hotel's proximity to Santa Monica's handy, public transport, the Tide Shuttle. The soaring lobby atrium, with plump armchairs and divans, welcomes all. Rooms are done in calming ocean colors and the textured headboards look like crocodile skin—that is if crocodiles were blue. Oversize work desks are practical and ergonomic. Most rooms have balconies, and those facing west on the upper floors have expansive views of the ocean and Santa Monica Mountains. On the ground floor, banquettes, cabanas, and a teak deck surround the pool, are prime for socializing. Pros: five blocks from beach, spacious rooms, designer rooms. Cons: away from Santa Monica's main dining and shopping.

The interior design is top notch. Baths had grey marble subway tiles. The lobby is chic and very welcoming - a great place to spend time w/friends. Very friendly staff. We were there during cool weather in March and there was complimentary hot apple cider each night and the pool was heated so it was very enjoyable. Highly recommend it.
