$$-$$$$, Italian, Venice
Fodor's Review:
A block from Venice Beach, but closer in spirit to the real Venezia, this charmer's sophisticated fare is a refreshing departure from the interchangeable menus at most L.A. trattorias. Here you might start with duck prosciutto drizzled with mild Gorgonzola cream, followed by porcini risotto studded with blueberries or cassunziei (beet-stuffed ravioli with poppy seeds in a brown butter and cheese sauce), a specialty of the owner's hometown in northern Veneto. Main courses include pistachio-crusted lamb loin with garlic-herb puree.
