The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum

Fodor's Review:

On 100 acres high up in the hills of Simi Valley is the final resting place of President Ronald Reagan along with an extensive museum that chronicles his early days as a Hollywood movie star, the two terms he served as governor of California, and his journey to the presidency. A massive new pavilion shelters the Air Force One plane that flew Reagan and six other presidents 1973-2001. Give yourself a good three hours to get through it all; a guided tour is your best bet. Don't forget to step outside to take time to enjoy the spectacular views and pay your respects at Reagan's gravesite. The library holds more than 50 million pages of presidential papers, photographs, film, video, audio, and books. It takes at least an hour to drive here from Downtown L.A.
