One of the country's oldest adobe one-story domestic buildings still standing, this landmark was built circa 1800, when the Spanish flag still flew over California. Docents lead guided tours of the ranch house and barnyard; there is a working blacksmith shop in the barn and a stable of farm animals that include draft horses, sheep, and goats, plus four acres of lush, colorful gardens to wonder through. Take note, however, that the barns area is undergoing major restoration through 2010, some areas may be closed and most livestock will be boarded off site during construction. Call ahead for updates.
