Southwest Museum

Fodor's Review:

Readily spotted from the Pasadena Freeway (Highway 110), this huge Mission Revival building, now added to the National Register of Historic Places, stands halfway up Mt. Washington. The Southwest Museum and Library holds one of the nation's largest archive collections related to the American Indian. In addition, it has extensive display of pre-Hispanic, Spanish colonial, Latino, and Western American art and artifacts. Note: The museum is undergoing a massive repair and renovation makeover through 2011, so it is currently only open on weekends.
