Rose Bowl

Fodor's Review:

With an enormous rose, the city of Pasadena's logo, adorned on its exterior, it's hard to miss this 100,000-seat stadium, host of many Super Bowls and home to the UCLA Bruins. Set in Brookside Park at the wide bottom of an arroyo, the facility is closed except during games and special events such as the monthly Rose Bowl Flea Market, which is considered the granddaddy of West Coast flea markets. If you want the best selection of items, show up early. People start arriving here at the crack of dawn, but note you will also pay a higher entry fee for having first dibs on the selection. The best bargaining takes place at the end of the day when vendors would rather settle for a few less dollars then have to lug their goods homes.

  • Cost: $7 from 9AMon, $10 for 8-9AMentrance, $15 for 7-8AMentrance
  • Open: Flea market 2nd Sun. of month 9-3
