For those truly looking for a Los Angeles experience, you can't get any better than a summer night at the Bowl. The Hollywood Bowl is Los Angeles' most iconic outdoor venue, with gorgeous views of nature serving as background to its concerts since it opened in 1920. The L.A. Philharmonic performs in summer here from June to September; both it and other events draw large crowds. Parking is limited, but the venue does the best it can by offering remote parking locations
and shuttles to the venue. The L.A. Philharmonic allows patrons to bring their own food and drinks (including alcohol) to performances, if they prefer (most Los Angelenos do). Patrons are advised to bring a jacket despite whatever the temperatures are during the day, as the venue does get quite cold at night. Visitors can watch the L.A. Philharmonic practice for free on certain dates; call ahead for times. Past open practices have been held during weekdays, but times and dates vary.
