Fodor's Review:
The Smell may have bands only two or three nights a week (Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday), but they're often choice -- in the alternative fringe world, anyway. If they're not playing at the Knitting Factory, Spaceland, or the Silver Lake Lounge, they just might be at the Smell. There's no liquor, the cover's usually $5, and there's also an art gallery. Enter via the back alley.
