Blink, and you could miss this place, whose reputation far exceeds its size. Quite possibly the tiniest restaurant to have received a James Beard award, Yuca's is known for carne asada, (marinated beef), cochinita pibil (Yucatán-style roasted pork) tacos, burritos, and banana leaf–wrapped tamales. This is a fast-food restaurant in the finest tradition—independent, family-owned, and sticking to what it does best. The liquor store next door sells plenty of Coronas to Yuca's customers soaking up the sun on the makeshift parking-lot patio. There's no chance of satisfying a late-night craving, though: the restaurant closes at 6 pm.
