Fodor's Review

With an awe-inspiring wine list—nearly 2,800 labels consuming 130 pages, cataloguing the contents of a cellar overflowing with more than 80,000 bottles—this restaurant is nothing short of heaven for oenophiles. The newly expanded wine bar allows wine lovers to familiarize themselves with that list in a casual setting while enjoying carpaccio and similar nibbles. In the 1970s suave owner Piero Selvaggio introduced L.A. to his exquisite modern Italian cuisine, and he continues to impress with dishes such as a timballo of wild mushrooms with rich Parmigiano-Reggiano saffron fonduta, a fresh risotto with market vegetables, a memorable osso buco, and sautéed branzino with lemon emulsion.
