Fodor's Review

One of the most romantic and architecturally dramatic dining venues in L.A., Cicada occupies the ground floor of the 1928 art deco Oviatt Building. Carved maple columns soar two stories to a gold leaf ceiling, and a mezzanine-level bar overlooks the spacious dining room. The menu leans on Italy, but with global influences, featuring dishes like tuna carpaccio with lemon-ginger sauce, and lamb chops with rosemary-mirin sauce. Fans rave about the restaurant's Lalique glass accents, live music, and widely spaced tables. Others complain about its banquet hall feel and so-so food.
