Centered on a beautifully restored lakefront park, Echo Park is the first residential neighborhood northwest of Downtown Los Angeles. It’s seen less gentrification than nearby Silver Lake, and is known for its edgier bars and music clubs. For film buffs, it was one of the principal locations of Roman Polanski’s masterpiece film Chinatown.
