Fodor's Review

A clubby style infuses the 1929 art deco landmark once known as the Argyle, bringing out as many locals as tourists to this iconic Sunset Strip boutique hotel. The lobby sets the tone with dark wood and marble floors; vintage Hollywood star photos add retro glamour to the Tower Bar, where you can sink into couches and upholstered corners while taking in the dramatic city views. The indoor-outdoor Terrace restaurant is poolside and has an equally impressive vistas. Guest rooms feature art deco–inspired fixtures and walnut armoires. The spa and elaborate beauty salon add to the resort-in-the-city feel.
